May Favourites

It’s hard to believe we’re already half way through 2016! It feels like yesterday I was celebrating the new year, with a list of resolutions I was never going to keep up, and now my 23rd birthday is rapidly approaching (June 17th, if you’re interested). With May drawing to a close I thought I’d share with you some things i’ve been loving this month.

1/ Primark Adhesive Nails

I used to be an acrylic nail junkie, and since having them removed after almost a year of full time falsies my real nails have been left tatty and brittle. I’ve been trying to nourish my natural nails with oils and strengtheners, which has really helped, but I can’t help but feel underdressed without my polished claws. These adhesive nails from Primark have been a God send, I pop them on for special occasions and can easily flick them off at the end of the night whilst maintaining my own nails condition. They come in loads of designs and for £1 you really can’t go wrong!

2/ Sonya Aloe Nourishing Serum

We all have that one person who clogs up our Facebook feeds with aloe related posts, and while i’m not really into the whole Forever Living craze this serum has impressed me. It claims to preserve and replenish the skins moisture and I reckon it does just that. I use this before my foundation and find it results in a smoother application, making my cheeks feel baby bum soft.

3/ Soap & Glory Mist You Madly Body Spray

I’m generally more of a perfume kinda girl, but  I don’t want to waste my favourite fragrance by dousing myself in it before a work out. I find this Soap and Glory mist is an essential for freshening up at the gym – the classic S&G scent is just lovely.

4/ Aveda Smooth Infusion Nourishing Styling Creme

Granted this is a pretty pricey hair product, however a little goes a long way. I’ve been working through this sample size for at least a month and have found it leaves my hair smooth and silky after blow drying. I’m definitely going to be purchasing the full size come pay day.

5/ Mac Cream Colour Base in Hush

Where do I start with this? I’m sure you can see by the picture its been well loved, I just can’t get enough of it! This highlight has been incorporated into my daily makeup regime and I’m forever getting compliments on it. The rosey hue leaves a subtle shimmer across my cheeks making my generally dull completion appear radiant. This is a great highlighter for adding a natural glow without being OTT.

6/ Revlon Matte Lip Colour in Mauve It Over

Another product thats worked its way into my day to day routine. This Revlon lipstick is a gorgeous nude with red undertones – a ‘your lips, but better’ kind of shade. I find the matte consistency gives the effect of a plumped pout, but the colour is nice and natural for everyday wear.

7/ Mint Daisy Necklace

This necklace was a gift a couple of years ago and I still love bringing it out for spring and summer. The mint and gold details along with the statement daisy design make for a pretty accessory to compliment wardrobe basics. I love teaming it with a white tee and jeans.

8/ Dexter

I thought i’d throw in one non beauty/ fashion favourite, and this month it has to be Dexter. The storyline is so clever, its rapidly consuming my evenings – I can’t tear myself away! I’m only on season three, so no spoilers please!

Let me know what you’ve been loving this month in the comments.
